Just got back...

We just got back from trick or treating. We went up and down our road but made a killing in the candy department. After finding out his outfit didn't fit Jen made a mad dash to the store last night and picked him up the Green Mystic Ranger outfit.

We left the house just before six for trick or treating. Jen, Mike, Cameron and my self went up and down the road. Jen wore her wedding dress, Mike was the green power ranger, I was a red neck. And Cameron went as a twister board. After milking this place for all the candy we could get we piled into the van and headed out.

Jen suggested that we head to my folks for a bit. They never get to see Mike. After hanging out there for a little while we decided to leave. We invited them over for dinner, tomorrow night perhaps. We headed to Jen's folks house where she and her dad checked the candy.

It's now 10 after 10 and I'm cooking Jen a pizza. She is starving and await in impatiently. All in all it was a good night, and with any luck it will be an even better night still...

Halloween..

Today is the day. Little kids running around breaking the 'normal' rule of not taking candy from strangers. The one day that it's ok to walk up to a complete strangers house and knock on the door.

My cold is in full swing. Last night I started coughing. My throat feels like someone took sand paper to it. The cold medicine I have knocks it back some, but doesn't kill it completely.

This year Jen and Cam are going to go out trick or treating while I stay home to pass out candy.

Mike Quote of the Day

Me: You ate the piece of candy after I told you not to?
Mike: I didn't have a choice, I accidentaly bit the wrapper and it came open.

Kidnap the Santaclause and beat him with a stick

Kidnap the Santaclause and beat him with a stick...

After a rough start Saturday Jen and I managed to make it to Alan and Jen's wedding. Jen didn't have anything to wear, or at least that was her excuse. But with a little digging she came up with her purple skirt and corset top...

To put it mildly she was damn sexy in the outfit, with the heels and all. To put it another way, we where lucky to make it out of the bed room, let alone to the wedding.

The wedding took place at the Weatfield inn in Willamston. It's a bed and breakfast, a house that was re-done. Nice place, if a little confusing. You could get lost easy in it. The ceremony was nice. Or at least the reception. Didn't get to see the real ceremony.

On our way home my sister called to see if we had her keys. She apparently lost them at the wedding. Hope she found them at some point.

After ditching the party we watched Matrix Revolutions and The Hills Have Eyes then went to sleep.

Sunday morning we got up and headed out to find food. Not realizing we where supposed to set the clocks back. We where an hour early to catch just about everything. Which was rather shitty. We ended up eating lunch and Mancenios. Then we proceeded to Borders to peruse the books, and pick up one.

After picking up Mike from Jen's folks house we went to see Night Mare Before Christmas in 3D. It was pretty good, the movie lends it's self well to 3D. I have a headache from it though. Some reason the digital 3D movies give me headaches. My vision is kind of blurry at the moment.

Jen is in the kitchen making Pumpkin bread. The house smells yummy, Cam should be here shortly too do his laundry.

Go See It.

Today was Mikes first real boyscout outting. It was just to the library in Brighton. They took the boys on a tour and showed them how everything worked. All in all it was an ok time. I'm always amazed how unbehaved kids are. And that thier parents can't controll them.

The kids where loud and rude, and the parents where just as bad. The only person there that was well behaved other then Mike was the older scout kid. I think he's in 5th grade. He is there to assist the den leader. He seems to be a rather well behaved person.

Mike had fun, or at least he said he did. Maybe the scout thing will work out in the end.

Patches

Our cat Patches is insane...

At about 6:30 this morning he came into the bed room and tried to close the door on us again. See Patches likes to run around the house like a mad cat. In order to keeps us from knowing he will come into our bed room and creep behind the door. With a push he'll start it closing and dash out of the room before it can latch.

I had to brace the door with the lamp last night so that the wind couldn't slam it closed. So when he tried to close it he couldn't. So I got to witness him running around the house like a mad cat at 6:45.

He also has managed to train me to pick him up when he wants on the couch or bed. He doesn't even have to meow. He just walks up and stares at me until I do as he wishes. If I didn't know better I'd think he ruled the house.

Remember the toe?

Everybody out there in blogland remember my toe? You know the nasty one with the bad nail...

Well, over the weekend Jen cut it off...

The nail, not the toe. It was nasty and starting to get infected.

Long story short, my toe fucking hurts. But at least it's not going to fall off.

Blah

Mike and Jen just took off out the door for the bus. It feels like a chilly morning today. It's getting to be the time of year that I love. I'm a fall person, I love when the weather starts to get cold. The leaves are turning, and the breeze is starting to get bitter. Soon we'll have the first snow fall of the year.

The cold weather is the best for me, I love to be able to snuggle up under a nice warm blanket with my wife. The only down side being that I always get sick when the weather changes. I can feel it brewing, my head has been stuffed up for a few days. A sinus headache, and long with a stuffy nose and a sneeze. Soon will come the sore throat and cause. It's going to hit me hard when it hit. On the bright side, I was never one for staying sick, the cold and flu usually only lasts a day or so with me. With any luck this will hit hard and be gone quickly.

Jen has an appointment with the Dr. Today. At least we think it's today, might be next Tuesday. We have to call them at 8 and see. We're all preped and ready to roll, but we lost the card for it and I'm pretty sure it's today.

Family

Family...

Your family is supposed to be there to support you. They are the people that you can trust to stand by you regardless of what happens in your life. While they are typically people that your are related to by blood or marriage, it is not always the case. I know that I conceder Cameron part of my family. After 22 years he is like a brother to me. I know that he will always be there for Jen and my self. That no matter what goes down between us it won't drive us apart. At least not for long.

I have never been that close to my family. Father, Mother and Sister, I have never felt a strong bond to them. Maybe it's because my mother and sister split when I was a teenage. My Dad worked constantly. I don't hold it against him, he did what he needed to do. But it still did not promote a strong bond. I had thought when I married Jen I had found a family I could fit into. One that was strong, and closely bonded.

Mothers: A mother is supposed to be there to support you, to comfort you. Your mother doesn't side between her children, her love is unconditional.

Fathers: A father is there for support, he helps when there is need. He provides and protects the children from harm. It is the role that he has taken upon him self.

Siblings: Your sibling is there to help you and guide you. If you are the older sibling it is your job to guide and protect your other. If you are the younger you are there to help and annoy the older. Though siblings don't always get along, they are always there for each other.

Spouse; When you marry you agree to share your life with another. For good or ill. They become a part of you, to share your pain. Your love is supposed to be unconditional, and forgiving.

Not sure why I wrote this, but I have so there!
