Friday the 13th.

First let me start by saying: HAPPY BIRTH DAY CRAIG!!!

Now on to the other stuff. As far as superstitions go, I don’t follow them too much. I walk under ladders all the time, don’t get bothered by black cats and can’t count on two hands how many times I’ve spilled the salt.

But I don’t do Friday the 13th. It’s bad mojo. Always has been in my book. So lets start today off right.

Got up in the morning, go Mike off to school okay the came home and set up my computer to download stuff. Off to work…

First car of the day, as it’s pulling into the shop we hear a loud crash. After a short examination we find that his muffler was hanging a bit low and it caught our railing and ripped it most the way off the car. I’m talking from manifold back to the end there was nothing but the o2 sensor at the front and one rubber grommet at the back holding this up. What’s more the it made it part way into the pit, so we can’t even back the car out of the shop.

After a bit of finagling and some coat hangers we managed to get it pinned up so the guy could drive back to the place he just got the muffler work done. His muffler had only been on the car for 25 minutes.

As the day progressed we had 3 people almost fall in the pit, 1 almost drive through the front doors, 2 fender benders in the back lot. And my personal favorite. We had a Toyota come in who had his oil changed at the dealership last time. When I took his filter off the car, instead of the filter coming off the stud like it should have the stud came out of the engine block. Not that big a deal, it happens. Just take the stuff of the filter and put it back in the block. Unfortunately, it came off the block because the last people to change his oil (That would be the dealership.) cross threaded the filter on to it. So we had to just a pair of vice grips to get the filter off. The force the stripped out stud and new filter onto the car. Needless to say we where not happy.

77 cars later I come home, take a shower and sit down to find that while I did set my laptop up to download my shows, I didn’t bother to plug it in. So the battery was completely dead..

Glad the day is almost over.

Vacation over, Back to Work

Today is the official end of my week vacation. I have to be at work in a little less then an hour. So for your amusement I have summarized my vacation in 7 sentences or less.

Day 1: Annual pumpkin carving party, Happy Birthday Jen!

Day 2: Had to put Patches down, enough said on that.

Day 3: Video Games and lots of them, then Magic with the in-laws.

Day 4: Cleaned the house for the Direct TV guy, and move video games.

Day 5: Waited for the Direct TV guy, good bye Comcast

Day 6: Damn van broke down on the way to Jen’s folks, up late towing it to my folks house.

Day 7: Up early to fix the van, then Trick-Or-Treating.

That about sums it up. Fixing the van wasn’t all that hard, my brother in-law Chris did most of the work. All in all not a bad vacation, though there where parts I would definitely leave out next time.
