Dinner...
We went out with Terry & Jen for dinner, at about 10pm. Chili's in Brighton. It was fun, but then it usually is. It was really busy. Only 1 waitress and like 15 tables. She tried her best to keep up, and all in all it was good service.
One thing that really annoys me about restaurants. The tables are always too small. The sit you four to a booth, the tables are not even big enough for you to sit at, let alone put 4 plates of food. Drinks, silverware. Then to top it all off the always put other stuff on the table that you don't need. The one exception to this I've found is Stillwater, the booths there can sit six comfortably. Leaving room on the table for bread plates, salad bowels, dinner plates, drinks, and still have enough room left over to stand up and dance if you wished.
Mmmmm... steak.
"Eh.. it's done."

It appears now that Jen has Neverwinter Nights for the Mac, she no longer blogs. Sucked into a computer game...
Ahh well, back to Baulders Gate...

Silent Hill.
Well, we made it to he movie last night. All in all I'd have to say, wait for the DVD. The movie wasn't really worth the price of the ticket. It had excessive gore and violence, but no plot worth mentioning. It started off slow and went down hill from there. The scenes where the evil came out to destroy the good guy where typical, and expected. You could almost watch it with your eyes closed and still know what was going on.
The effects where good, and the 'zombies' where rather neat looking, in a creepy sort of way. The ending was anti-climatic.
All in all it was layed out like a video game, with none of the 'replay' value.
Though if you liked the game, I'd rent it on DVD. It's by far one of the better video game moves, ranking slightly under resident evil, but way of houses of the dead.

The Movie...
Jen and I are heading out to see Silent Hill here in a min or two. It looks like it's going to be a good movie. It'll be nice to be able to go out and do something. We didn't get to do anything for our anniversary because she had to work, and wasn't feeling good.
We'll see how it turns out.

The birds and the bees...
Mike and I went outside to play today, He is abnormally afraid of bugs. I always thought little boys where supposed to love bugs. To play with and torture little girls with. But not Mike, the second he sees one he wants to come inside. We had to have a discussion about bees. He seems to think that all the bees in the yard will attack him the second he steps out the door. Hard to explain to him that bees will generally leave you alone unless your doing something to them or the hive.
The tree right outside the house is flowering, so the back yard is filled with honey bees. If you stand on the deck you can hear them. I think it's cool, but hard to get Mike to stay outside with that many bees.

So...
Cam bought 'guitar Hero' last night, so I'm sitting on the couch watching him rock out to 'Sharp Dressed Man' on a little plastic guitar. Seems like a strange game, one of those that you would have to play to understand. From my vantage point it appears to be like DDR with a controller.
Little blurbs of color float by on the screen while the guy stands there playing in the background. It's like watch a band, on not at all...
Heh, Cam's having fun though, which is all that matters.

Why is it...
Why is it any time I try to type the word 'dog' it comes out as 'god' and I have to correct it?

It's strange.
9am, no dog to take out.
The house is strangly quite with out her wandering around. With out the popping of the create while she walks. Mike is rambling about his video game. He just got first place on his motorcycle game. First time he's ever won, so he's really excited. He dosn't even notice she's missing. Wonder how long it'll take him to relize she's gone for good. If he ever does.
Hungry, gonna go make breakfast...

Hhhmmmm....
I keep expecting to hear her whine, or bark. Or to hear the creaking of her crate when she moves. The cold wet nose to the face when I lay down. It's like my brain doesn't register that she's gone.
Heh, damn dog.

Magic The Gathering...
Below is the 'official' rules about tapping as stated in the Magic The Gathering rule book. As I have had an argument about tapping creature on more the one occasion I thought I would post them here. The Magic rule book can be downloaded from the magic website.
For the sake of clarity "T:" is meant to represent tap, because I cannot copy the tap symbol.
Tapping: Tapping is the Magic game's way of showing that a card has been used. To tap a card, turn it sideways. At the beginning of each of your turns, you untap your tapped cards so you can use them again.
Activated ability. You play an activated ability by paying its cost. All activated abilities have a (":") in them. The part before the colon is the activation cost. The part after the colon is the effect you get when you pay the activation cost. For example, "T:" Draw a card" means if you tap the permanent with the ability, you draw a card.
Tap: This symbol means "tap this card" It appears in the activation costs. You can't pay a "T:" cost if the card is already tapped. Also, remember that you can't pay a creature's "T:" cost the turn it comes under your control.
Paying a cost
Once you pay a mana cost or an activation cost, there's no way to get back what you paid, even if the spell or ability is countered.
You can't pay a cost unless you can pay all of it. For example, if an activated ability tells you to discard a card and you have no cards in your hand, you can't even try to pay it.
Remember that you can't pay a creature's activation cost that includes "T:" unless you've controlled the creature since the beginning of your turn.
If an effect does something to a permanent that resembles paying a cost of it's ability, it doesn't count as paying the cost. For example, Icy Manipulator reads,
"1, "T:" Tap target artifact, creature, or land." Royal Assassin's ability reads, ""T:" Destroy target tapped creature" If you use Icy Manipulator to tap the Royal Assassin, it won't cause the Assassin to destroy a tapped creature.
Tap
To turn a card sideways. When a permanent is tapped, it usually means it's been used for the turn. Once a card becomes tapped, you can't tap it again until it's been untapped.
Creatures tap to attack. you tap lands to get mana from them. Many permanents have activated abilities with "T:" in their costs. ("T:" means "tap this permanent.")
Sometimes an effect will tap a permanent. If this happens, you don't get the effect you'd get if you chose to tap your permanent yourself.

Nightmare Continues.
Stumbling into view is Dave, the guy that lives across the street. It is obvious from his condition that something horrible befell him. Missing the lower half of his jaw, and his right arm tore off at the elbow he slowly makes his way towards me. I watch in grizzly terror as he slowly shuffles towards me. It is not until the unearthly moan of the undead escapes his lips that I am shaken from my terror. Realizing my danger I quickly run to the house, slamming the front door behind me. The large windows in the front of the house make it all but impossible to defend. Jen is at work, Mike at his grandparent.
After a quick assessment of the situation I release the dog from her leash, I cannot lead her around she would only slow me down. Making my way to the basement I grab my sword from the dresser in the spare room and head to the garage to scrounge up some weapons. The focus is gone, that leaves me home alone. What do we have...
Shovel, Rake, Maul, Pick-axe. Pick axe seems to be the best option, it's point is sturdy yet sharp enough to pierce the skull. With pick-axe in hand I head back upstairs. Into the bed room I go, to the bathroom to grab my 'zombie survival guide' and some spare clothes. Off to the kitchen to grab what food I have that is portable.
With my supplies stuffed into my ruck sack I head back to the garage. The guide says that a bicycle is the best mode of transportation in these instances. A quick check to make sure the tires are good on Cam's bike. Tossing the bike pump on top of my bag I sling it over the shoulders. The pick-axe tied to the strap, and my sword on my hip. Once more I try the hospital, trying to reach Jen. The line is still down, no choice left, half to ride. To make it to the hospital.
Push the the button on the door and it's off. Up the drive, past Dave who is still milling about in the road. Down the road on the bike. Long ride to the hospital, but I have to make it.
More to come...

The Nightmare Begins
I lay there sleeping, my mind a drift in the land of dreams, when it come. Invading my solitude is the popping of metal on metal. The shuffling of little feet as something approaches. Then I hear it, the low growl coming from right next to me. With a sigh I roll out of bed, dress, and take the dog out side. That's when the real nightmare begins.
It's foggy, too foggy by far for 2am. It is thick enough that you cannot see more then a few feet in front of you. And the silence is all encompassing. The only noise that can be heard is the chirping of crickets some distance away. I watch the dog as she circles around me, sniffing the ground as she walks. Hunting for the right place. Suddenly she stops, her ears perking up. A low growl issues from her throat as she stares down the road.
It is then that I can hear it, the shuffle of feet coming down the road. As if someone is walking my way, too tired to lift their feet off the ground. Again Cookie growls, this time deeper, it is not the playful growl she usually uses. I tense up, at this hour no one would be outside. It is strange that I hear a noise. I wait in silence until they approach with in sight distance.
That is when I see them coming out of the fog, a human form shuffling along the road in my direction. It's voice a low moan...

Freaky
There is something a little freaky about taking the dog outside at 1:15 in the morning and having the fog be thick enough you can't see her on the end of a four foot lead.
Just figured I'd share that with you all.

Today...
We just got out of bed. The wife and I spent the whole morning lying in bed watching a movie. It was nice to be able to just lay with her, we don't often get time to do that. Today we plan on going out and just being together. It should be fun, I hope. Just wander around and do what ever.
She has to work tonight, and we won't get a lot of time after Mike gets home.

Today was a relatively ok day. Aside from being sick to my stomach most of the day. Played some Baulders Gate with Mike. We went out to Panda for dinner. Came home, took the dog out. Came back in after doing it's business then shit on the floor. Fucking mut.
Blah, it's been two months with out and accident, now it shits for no reason.

It is now the third day in a row my stomach has been fishy. I don't know what's wrong with me, but it sucks. I do ok during the day, just a general nausea. It's not until I lay down at night that I feel like throwing up, and usually do. At least I can keep my food down until then.
Also, for some reason I'm burning up. I know it's not that hot in here, thermostat says 71, yet I'm sweating and it feels like 90.
Blah, I hate this.
Hi-Ho the Dairy-O the cheese stands alone.

Sleeping.
Mmm...
After two days of sleeping on it I've decided that I love the new bed. The first night I got 10 hours and woke up well rested and energenic. Last night I only got 5, and I am still well rested and energenic. Though I was up till one with 'the sickness'.
Mmmm... The bed stood up to 'other tests' as well. I think that it is worth the price.

4lbs of chicken, 2lbs of steak, and 4 ears of corn...
That's right folks, we had our selves a BBQ. It was such a nice day out side we decided to break out yee ol' grill and burn our selves some chicken. It seems like that last few times we had a BBQ the food came out tasting like charcoal and year old burgers. So we got a new type of coal, and I washed the grill. Everything was yummy.

Tired...
Seems like I can't get enough sleep now a days, I think I'm just getting lazy. I'm wore out, even though I've had 8 hours of sleep. But, moving around seems to help. Think I need to find a job, being layed off is starting to drain me. Been looking on the net to see if I can find anything I like. But so far nothing.
The wife and I are going to head out for lunch in a bit. We gotta pick up dog food too, but lunch will be good. She's off work for a few days, so maybe we'll get to spend some time together.
I hate being broke, makes it hard to go do stuff. I'd like to go see a movie, or just take a drive. But then the dog makes it hard to do either.

Lack of Sleep
It's been a long time sense I've had to function with no sleep. The night before last Jen was sick so I was up until 7:00 with her. I finely got to sleep but had to get back up at 8:00 with Mike to see him off to school. Of course the dog wouldn't let me sleep after that.
Am always amazed how different the world is if you don't sleep, I spent the better part of an hour wondering if I could create a sling shot out of the rubber bands in Jen's van. The wondering the odds of me hitting a bird in a tree three hundred feet away with a rock. It just wouldn't quick chirping. Add to it that it was dark and stormy, which always makes me want to sleep anyway. Of course I tried to take a nap on the couch, but anytime you lay down in the living room you have about thirty five, maybe forty seconds before your awakened to a dog nose in your mouth or eye.
Jen is thankfully feeling better. I don't like seeing her sick and miserable. Not to mention that she gets cranky when she can't keep food down, but who wouldn't. It's Saturday, I've slept the night. Jen has managed to eat breakfast and lunch. Mike is playing legos just out side of the living room, and the dog is drinking her water, getting ready to come slime one of us, I'm hoping it's Jen, who is reading a book. She's so absorbed it'll take her completely by surprise.
