State of Michigan
Gotta love the state of Michigan,
After receiving my Marvin check for last week, but not for the two weeks before hand I called the unemployment office. According to their record, when I called two Fridays ago for lack of said check, which was not shipped because I did not register for work, I had told the lady on the phone that I did not want the check.
Now logically, why would I call the unemployment office to ask about a check I didn't want? But it was in their computer that I had told them not to send it. I'm not one to lose my temper with someone on the phone, it doesn't normaly do any good. Most times the person on the phone isn't at fault, this woman was being helpful. She was trying to figure out what had happened, besides yelling at someone with the power to terminate your unemployment on a whim seems like a bad idea.
After some investigation she figured out that after my failure to register for work I needed to do a late registry, which I was not aware of. The previous woman not only didn't bother to mention this, she told me my check would get mail out. Ok, we got what happened sorted out, now how to fix it?
It's simple, they will mail me a form to fill out. I have to answer the questions and mail it back. Then they have to process it, and finding no faults they will mail me out a check, or attach the sum to my next check after that. So your looking at 2-3 days for me to get the form, then another 3-4 days for it to get back. After that it's god knows how long to get the check. All because some woman pushed the wrong button on the computer, or was too lazy to want to fill out the right form.
I am a little irate about it, was gonna use this check to get my license back, which would greatly help in the job search. The department of treasury finely mailed me the other payment amount. With slightly over 1,500 I can get it back, and go about driving. Course with my luck I'll only have it for about a month. A month seems like about the max time I've had it sense I was 18, the first time it got suspended.
Oddly enough, every time it's ever been suspended it been for driving someone else's car with bad plates.
