MRI

Just got home from my first MRI ever. Now, I'm not claustrophobic by any means. I've never had a problem with in closed spaces, and in fact often sleep with a pillow or blanket over my face.

But I think the MRI tube was a bit extreme. I am not by any definition a small guy, when they loaded me into the tube my elbows scrapped the whole way down. They told me that I could "Put my arms down once I was in." but there wasn't any space in there to put them. I couldn't drop them to my side because my hips where touching also.

I didn't make me uneasy the way I would imaging a claustrophobic person would be, but it was pretty damn uncomfortable. And then to top it all off, the table is only like 2 feet wide, so there is no room to maneuver, so when it came time to sit back up I didn't really have any options except to roll off onto the floor. The two girls who where in there tried to help, but that's like having Mike try to lift an elephant. Why it might be possible, it's not very probable.

Now I back at home on the floor, sprawled out taking up as much space as possible.

I have to voice a lot of the same opinions.
I've never been claustrophobic in my entire life but when I had one of these babies, I had a couple of seconds of wanting to panic, before I adjusted my head to my "ahh..it aint nothing" attitude.

Also, the machine they used when I went it, got REALLY HOT, so when you tried to relax your arms by your side, the machines revenge was to try and burn your arms.

Glad thats over for you and I hope they find some way to help fix this.

Take care,
mom

It did get really hot towards the end of the test. Felt like I was laying on one giant heating pad.

Lucky, the heating pad seems to be the one thing other then drugs that eases my pain, so it was rather soothing. But I don't think I would have been able to stand it for too long.

And to think, the offered to cover me with a blanket when the where sticking me in there.
